I spent the majority of my time figuring out what I saw a surreal, It was very difficult as I have not had to work with such a strange art style before.

War
Decided to create a more subtle war piece for this assignment, a poor soldier who couldn't move quick enough to get out of the way of a falling wall.
I began by following a tutorial on modelling a hand, I then chose to pile bricks around the hand and give place some dog tags to show that it is in fact a soldier under the rubble.
I found this assignment quite enjoyable as I learnt alot following the tutorial.

Problems with the Truck Brief
I have tried very hard to get this tutorial completed but faced problems at every turn.
One of the issues is shown on the right. As I chose to extrude one of the faces all of a sudden my poly count would shoot up.
The pictures below show why the poly count shot up from a single extrude. It seems that the extrude has duplicated all the edges around the face that I extruded.Another of the issues that really hampered my progress was the fact that the boolean tool that I needed to use for the wheel well wouldn't work properly.
As you can see when I clicked on the boolean option it would just delete my entire model.Wednesday, 29 February 2012

Portait Sketch & Final
I was going to try and begin working with Z-Brush and Maya but due to difficulty installing I had to settle with Photoshop.
Very difficult to figure out what you actually look like instead of how you think you look like.
